Biofeedback/Neurofeedback

Biofeedback and neurofeedback are mind-body techniques that teach individuals how to control certain physiological processes, such as heart rate, muscle tension, and breathing, to manage stress and improve overall well-being. By using sensors that monitor body functions, biofeedback/neurofeedback provide real-time data that helps people learn how to control these functions consciously. They widely used for treating anxiety, chronic pain, headaches, and hypertension, among other conditions.
During a session, electrodes or sensors are attached to the body to monitor physiological activity. This data is displayed on a monitor, showing how certain actions, thoughts, or emotions influence the body’s responses. Over time, with consistent feedback, individuals can learn to lower their heart rate, relax tense muscles, and breathe more effectively. Biofeedback is particularly useful for stress management and conditions where stress exacerbates symptoms.
